Pattern:

The basic design is a garter stitch boarder with a stockinette stitch interior while alternating colors. A single purl row through the stockinette stitch adds a pop of elegance to the overall design.

To begin, with colour A on 225 stitches.

Begin top boarder:

Work garter stitch (knit every row) until the pattern measures 6in (approx. 40 rows)

Begin working interior bands of the blanket:

Row 1 (wrong side) : K 25 sts (or approx. 6 inches), purl to remaining 25 sts (or approx. 6 inches), k 25 sts

Row 2 (right side) : k all sts

Repeat row 1&2, 4 more times (until you have 10 rows completed)

Row 11: As Row 1

Row 12 (wrong side): k all sts

Rows 1-12 complete one band within the interior. You will repeat these 11 sts throughout the pattern, changing colours as needed.

Work 2 more bands in colour A (white)

Change to colour B (Leaf): work 2 bands

Change to colour C (Light Grey Heather): work 6 bands

Change to colour B (Leaf): work 2 bands

Change to colour D (Grey Heather): work 6 bands

Change to colour B (Leaf): work 2 bands

Change to colour E (Charcoal): work 3 bands

Begin bottom boarder:

Work garter stitch (knit every row) until the pattern measures 6in (approx. 40 rows)
