These little ones are a classic. Crochet thread takes some getting used to but it is able to create a much more intricate design that this #Angel needs! It is worth the time to learn something new if you haven't tried #crochetThread before! Check it out.
#10 crochet thread - I used this one! Size 7 hook (though you can make it whatever size you'd like by changing the hook size)
Note: Head is worked in rnds without joining. Use contrasting color thread to mark end on rnd and move after each rnd.
RND 1: Ch 2, work 13 sc in 2nd ch from hook; place marking thread after last sc.
RND 2: Sc in first sc, *[2 sc in next sc (inc made)] twice, sc in nect sc; rep from * around: 21 sc.
RND 3-8: Sc in each sc around: 21 sc.
RND 9: *[Pull up a lp in each of next 2 sc, YO and draw thru all 3 lps (dec made)] twice, sc in next sc; re from * around: 13 sc. Don't finish off, and stuff head firmly.
RND 10: Sc in each sc around: 13 sc. Do Not Finish Off.
RND 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same sp, (2 dc in next sc) 12 times; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-3: 26 dc.
RND 2: Ch 4 (counts as first trc), trc in same dc, 2 trc in each dc around; join with sl st in 4th ch of beg ch-4: 52 trcs.
RND 3: Ch 1 (counts as first sc), sc in same trc, (2 sc in next trc), 5 times, ch 2, skip next trc +5 dc in next trc (shell made), ch 2, skip next trc, sc in next trc, ch 2, skip next trc,+; rep from +to+ 4 times more, ending last rep by working last sc before ch-2; fold circle in half with wrong sides together; join first and last shells together with a sl st in the first ch of ch-2 before beg shell (wing is completed); continuing around, (2 sc in next trc) 6 times, ch 2, skip next trc; rep from + to + 5 times ending last rep by working last sc; join first and last shells of 2nd group as before; sl st in beg ch of rnd.
RND 4: Ch 5 (counts as first dc plus ch 2), (skip next sc, dc in next sc, ch 2) 11 times; join with st st in 3rd ch of beg ch-5: 12 dc.
RND 5: Ch 1 (counts as first sc), (sc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next dc) twice, (2 sc in next ch-2 sp, sc in next dc) 9 times, sc in next ch-2 sp; join with sl stin beg ch: 33 sc.
RND 6: Repeat RND 4, workking pattern 16 times: 17 dc.
RND 7: Ch 1, (counts as first sc), 3 sc in next ch-2 sp, (sc in next dc, 2 sc in next ch-2 sp) 16 times; join with sl st in beg ch: 52 sc.
RND 8: Repeat RND 4, working pattern 25 times: 26 dc.
RND 9: Sl st in first ch-2 sp, ch 1 (counts as first sc), (2 sc in next ch-2 sp) 24 times, sc in next ch-2 sp; join with sl st to beg ch: 50 sc.
RND 10: Ch2 (counts as first hdc), skip next sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc (hdc in next sc, skip next sc, 5 dc in next sc, skip next 2 sc) 9 times; finish off: 10 shells
Ch 20; join with sl st to beg ch.
RND 1: ch 3 (counts as first hdc plus ch 1), (2sc, ch 1, hdc, ch 1) 15 times in ring, 2 sc, ch 1; join with sl st to 2nd ch of ch-3, fastened off. 16 points
