Crochet Chevron Pillow

This is my favourite pillow I’ve ever made. It is worked up with 3 different colors in Bernat Blanket Yarn and is as cuddly as it gets. I’ve fit these to a 24x24in pillow but the pattern can easily be scaled up/down.

Materials:

I used White, Teal, and Gray:

  • Crochet hook size L (8.00mm)
  • 24in pillow

Abbreviations:

Mc: main color

Cc: contrast color

Sc: single crochet

Ch: chain

Sc3tog: single crochet 3 together

Pattern:

To start ch 65

Row 1: In second ch from hook sc2tog, sc 6, *3 sc in next ch, sc 6, sc3tog, sc 6, 3 sc in next ch*, repeat to last 8 sts, sc 6, sc2tog. turn

Row 2: Working in back loops only, ch 1, sc2tog, sc 6, *3 sc in next ch, sc 6, sc3tog, sc 6, 3 sc in next ch*, repeat to last 8 sts, sc 6, sc2tog. turn

Repeat rows 2 until length measures 44in. This yarn stretches and you want it to be snug against a 24in pillow so plan on pulling it all into place.

Assembly:

Start by sewing the last row completed to the very first row to create a continuous round of the pattern. Then stitch the side of the pillow that has all the loose ends – it’s easier to start with this side since you’re going to need to tug everything into place once you get the pillow in there. Make sure you tuck in all loose ends into the cavity as you sew it together. Insert the pillow, pulling the corners right into the corners of your 3-sided pillow case. It will fit snug but that’s what you want. Sew up remaining side and tuck in loose end. Enjoy!
