Block Stitch Lap Blanket

This is a small/medium sized lap blanket that works up in a flash. I’ve made mine with baby weight yarn so it is soft and light. It would also double as a baby blanket!

This pattern requires two different colours to really make it pop. This stitch is worked up in multiples of 3+1 so the pattern can be adjusted in size by increasing/decreasing in multiples of 3+1.

  • 2 balls of main colour A: I used Bernat Softee Baby in Flannel:

  • 1 ball of contrast colour B: I used Bernat Softee Baby in Blue Jeans:

  • 4mm (UK 8 – US G6) crochet hook

  • 4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) 16 sc x 19 rows with 4 mm crochet hook

Finished measurements:

beg = beginning

ch = chain

sc = single crochet

sk = skip
